Please read the full terms below, but in order to simplify things here are a couple of bullet points to understand our privacy policy and how we handle data.
We automate things, but at the end of the day, pretty much all data you see on Livecounts.io is akin to going to your public profile on a social media site and writing down your follower count/etc. We don't store, show or share private information unless explicitly stated and requested and permission is granted. Furthermore, we feel our job is a bit like a journalist. We want to be a trusted source of information and that means not accepting requests to remove or change information we have listed unless there is something inaccurate with it. The world comes to us to see transparent follower/etc numbers to see if there is any “fishy business” going on. If we remove this data when requested it ruins our credibility. As the data we are displaying is public data anyone could have gotten from visiting your profile anyway we don't feel like this should raise any privacy concerns.
We provide our services for the most part free of charge. Servers cost money though as well as the team to program them. For this reason we monetize the site via ads, and offer an optional paid membership that removes ads and lets you boost a channel.
If you sign up for a membership, we store your email address so you can sign in, along with basic details about the devices you are signed in on and your subscription. Payments go through Stripe, so we never see your card details. See “Accounts & Membership” below for the full list.
We use Cookieless Analytics Solution called Rybbit Analytics which helps us know how many people are using the site, which parts of the site you use the most often, etc. It helps us build out things you're interested in and not focus on things you're not. Ads on the site are served by Google AdSense. We don't load AdSense at all for signed-in members with an ad-free plan.
We hope this more informal, yet also more informative privacy policy helped. Again see below the more “legal” version but there shouldn't be anything surprising there if you read this section.
Livecounts.io's Privacy Policy (“Policy”) describes how we collect, use, and share information from visitors to our website Livecounts.io (the “Site”) and the services (“Services”) available through our Site.
Livecounts.io may change any of the terms and conditions in this Policy at any time for any reason. A notice of material change will be posted on Livecounts.io's website, and you are responsible for reviewing the changes. If you do not agree with them, do not continue to use Livecounts.io's website, uninstall our apps, and refrain from using our data.
By visiting our Site and/or using any of our Services, you agree to have your personal information handled as per this Policy. Livecounts.io collects information about you directly from you, from third parties, and automatically through your use of our Site and/or Services.
Information gathered from third parties includes data and statistics from, but not limited to YouTube, TikTok, Twitter/X, Twitch, and Kick. This data is PUBLIC INFORMATION. If you do not want to have this information shared on Livecounts.io, you will have to adjust your privacy settings on the relevant platform. Livecounts.io WILL NOT REMOVE PUBLIC INFORMATION FROM ITS WEBSITE WITHOUT A LEGALLY BINDING ORDER TO DO SO.
Livecounts.io uses technology to collect information about your use of our Site and Services through cookies and third party tracking technologies.
Livecounts.io's Site includes links to third-party websites. Access to and use of linked websites is governed by those third-party websites' privacy policies. Livecounts.io is not responsible for their information practices.
In order to keep statistical data updated, Livecounts.io utilizes API services of third parties including but not limited to YouTube, TikTok, Twitter/X, Twitch, and Kick. We are only gathering publicly available data from each of the API services, not anything private about your account.
You don't need an account to use Livecounts.io. If you create one to buy or manage a membership, we collect and store the information below. Billing, renewal, cancellation and refunds are covered by the Membership & Spotlight Terms.
We keep this information while your account exists. You can ask us to delete your account by emailing the address below. After that we delete your account data, except billing records that we must keep for accounting and tax purposes.
When you sign in, we set a session cookie that is shared between livecounts.io and api.livecounts.io. It is httpOnly, so scripts on the page can't read it, and it is only used to keep you signed in. Ad-free members also get an lc_adfree cookie that lasts up to 24 hours. It only tells the page not to load ads before your membership has been checked, and it contains no personal information. Both cookies are strictly necessary for features you asked for.
Membership payments, and any Spotlight promotions bought before Spotlight was retired, are processed exclusively by Stripe. Livecounts.io never sees or stores your card number or other sensitive payment details. We share your email address with Stripe so it can create your customer record and send receipts.
For Spotlight purchases, the only personal data we collected was your email address. We use it to contact you while your promotion is active (for example, to confirm it is live or to resolve issues) and keep it afterwards for accounting. We do not sell your email or share it with any third party beyond what Stripe needs to process the transaction.
All other personal or financial information provided during checkout is handled solely by Stripe and its partners under Stripe's Privacy Policy.
